The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug burnt Will Ferrells Ron Burgandy’s Big Mustache character Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (read review) The hobbit earned $31.4 million, but dropped about 60% of its audeince in the process. While Anchorman did earn $26.7 million but i thinks is pretty low for a movie that had tons of promotion. Heres a little tidbit The first Anchorman opened in July 2004 to $28.4 million and went on to gross $85.3 million domestically. Coming in third is Disney’s animated pic Frozen with $19.2 million, Landing it in fourth was David O. Russell’s star-studded epic American Hustle which took in an $19.1 million and in fifth was Disney Saving Mr.Banks $9.3 million. Next week we see the release of some cool movies Like the Wolf of Wall Street and 47 Ronin will see if the Hobbit can be overthrown?
