“Superpower Dogs” Review by Brooke Daugherty

Superpower Dogs is an IMAX 3D movie chronicling the jobs of six real life heroes – canine heroes. Narrated by dog lover and actor Chris Evans, this film is a great 45 minute watch for the whole family. We get to follow rescue dogs, investigative dogs, as well as a surfing therapy dog.
Not only are the stars of this movie shown doing their jobs, but also the love and attention given to them by their owners. With heartbreaking stories about animals being forced to perform for the recent string of movies starring dogs, this film is a refresher. It begins with a dog named Henry who is an avalanche rescuer in British Columbia. Evans narration takes on the persona of Henry and continues throughout the film speaking as if he were Henry himself.
The movie’s credits and transitions have a comic book theme, a nod to our narrator and the furry heroes on screen. We even see Black Widow and Captain America in the opening sequence as if we were sitting down to a Marvel movie. Each hero got an end credits page with comic font and a dynamic photo. By the end, I was crying tears of joy and wishing my own puppy was there with me. This is a must see palate cleanser for all the dark and gritty reboots of late.
If you love dogs, watch this movie. If you love animals, watch this movie. If you love Chris Evans WATCH THIS MOVIE.
