“Sasquatch” Hulu Docu-Series Review by Brooke Daugherty

Director Joshua Rofé with the Duplass Brothers on as executive producers, bring to light the real story of three men murdered in Northern California’s cannabis farming region. Is it possible Bigfoot exists and brutally ripped apart three men, or could there be more to the story?
Journalist David Holthouse worked on a marajiana farm in the mid 90s. While there he heard firsthand a story about Bigfoot killing three men in the mountains of California. Even with all his investigations he’d done, he still couldn’t get this story out of his mind.
The three part mini-series covers Holdhouse’s investigation. Interviews with locals, pot farmers, and Bigfoot afficianadoes. Interwoven with Holdhouse’s story are animations giving the first episode an element of playfulness while he seeks out information on this (possibly) mythical creature. As the tale goes on, the animations give a bit of levity to the increasingly ominous investigation.
This miniseries clocks in at just over two hours over the course of three episodes. In my opinion it should have been two hour long episodes. Sasquatch is an interesting watch for those who enjoy both paranormal AND true crime. It is definitely worth a watch if you enjoy all things weird and mysterious.
