“Murder Among The Mormons” Netflix Review by Brooke Daugherty

Murder Among the Mormons is a Netflix docuseries chronicalling the true story of bombings that injured one and killed two Mormon document dealers. Researched and directed by Jared Hess and Tyler Measom, Murder Among the Mormons is a far cry from Hess’ other works like Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre. That doesn’t stop the duo from telling an interesting story over three episodes.
If you have no knowledge of the events, episode one may seem a bit slow. Don’t let that keep you from watching this documentary. The story ramps up to a roller coaster ride through rare documents and murder. If you know the outcome already, the first episode is an interesting look at those involved. For those who don’t know the whole story, I don’t want to spoil anything.
This series was initially pitched as a six part series, but was shortened to three once Netflix and BBC Studios came into the picture. More episodes of the 45-60 minute run time would do a disservice to this story, but cutting the current episodes into smaller bites, might have actually made this a Tupperware for me. This limited series is one to watch for True Crime enthusiasts on a Sunday afternoon.
