SPOILERS
All hail Christina Applegate, her royal highness of sarcasm and superb acting ability. “Dead to Me” is the definition of “binge-worthy”. Season 2 picks up seamlessly after the season 1 cliffhanger ending. Jenn Harding (played by Applegate) finds herself on the suspect list after she kills Steve at the end of season 1.
Her friendship with Judy Hale (played by Linda Cardellini) is on shaky ground but they find a way to work together so neither of them end up in jail for the crimes they have committed. Jenn’s sarcastic, hard exterior is brilliantly matched by Judy’s innocence, kindness and naiveté’. Together they continue to make audiences laugh, cry and cringe.
Suspense is on the menu this season and it is played out so well. “Dead to Me” presents storylines that initially appear to be resolved, only to throw another curveball into the mix without making the plot seem crowded or overworked. Add in the supporting characters of Jenn’s sons Charlie and Henry (played by Sam McCarthy and Luke Roessler) and you are in for nothing short of a treat in season 2.
Surprise visitors and unexpected relationships throw this story into a tailspin as the police hone in on their key suspects. All the while the audience will stay on the edge of their seats watching Jenn and Judy dodge every bullet they seem to encounter.
“Dead to Me” is an easy watch that will allow you to effortlessly pass the time while being entertained in a fresh new way. Netflix brings their A-game with this show and it does not disappoint!
