“The World According to Jeff Goldblum” Review by Brooke Daugherty
November 14, 2019 7:56 am |
Jeff Goldblum explores everyday topics from sneakers to ice cream in his new National
Geographic Disney+ series. Informative and fun, this show is “How It’s Made” dripping with peak
Goldblum. He is how you expect Jeff Goldblum to be – odd, off the cuff, and frenetic. But he is
also inquisitive, insightful, and funny. The episodes will air weekly and I can’t wait until the next
one drops.
The first episode sees him visiting several people to get the low down on the world of sneaker
collecting. At SneakerCon, he witnesses high priced shoe purchases. ADIDAS invites him to
check out their lab where they develop their products and collect data for better performance.
He learns how to shoot an unboxing with a shoe vlogger and discusses shoes with
neighborhood basketball players. It culminates with him getting his own pair of custom
basketball shoes designed by a top custom designer.
For fans of the Goldblum, you will be jazzed in the first minute. If you aren’t so sure about his
quirky, eccentric personality, give this a shot. He can overpower people at times, but he is so
charming and soothing that it doesn’t seem to matter. Goldblum decided not to research any of
the subjects beforehand which allows him to give genuine responses and questions. As a
massive fan of Jeff Goldblum, both the actor and the person, I am extremely excited about
future episodes.
