“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” Disney+ Review by Brooke Daugherty

Do you love The Mandalorian? Do you love Clone Wars? Do you fantasize being Dave Filoni’s cowboy hat to be as close to that brilliant Star Wars brain as possible? Then The Bad Batch is for you. In all seriousness, The Bad Batch is another home run for Disney and Star Wars. Jennifer Corbett developed the series with Filoni while Brad Rau serves as the supervising director. As with Clone Wars, the story and animation are top notch.
The most amazing fact about this series is the voice cast. Michelle Ang voices Omega, a new character we meet on Kamino. The rest of the main voices are provided by Dee Bradey Baker. Baker voiced all the clone troopers in Clone Wars and does the same in The Bad Batch. He gives each of them an individual personality, not just the five troopers of Clone Force 99.
In the first feature length episode, we get Ang and Baker as well as other familiar voices. We get Andrew Kishino back as Saw Gerrera, Stephen Stanton returning as Admiral Tarkin and Ian McDiarmid makes an appearance as Emperor Palpatine. Mign-Na Wen even reprises her role as Fennec Shand, in what is a prequel to her Mandalorian storyline. Another loved animated Star Wars character shows up, but you’ll have to watch it to see who.
Honestly, if you have loved other Star Wars animation, you will enjoy this first episode of The Bad Batch. I personally can’t wait to see where this season goes just based on the first episode.
