So maybe he didn’t get the part that he was petitioning for but Michael Rooker (Walking Dead, Cliffhanger, Mallrats) has been cast in the new James Gunn directed ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ film. Originally stating months ago that he’d love to be the voice of Rocket Raccoon but instead landing the part of Yondu Udonta, a hunter from the Zatoan tribe on Centauri IV.
He’s the latest addition to a cast starring Chris Pratt of ‘Parks and Recreation’ as Star-Lord and former WWE champion Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer. Zoe Saldana is in talks to play Gamora, the most dangerous woman in the universe, but nothing is official.
James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Michael Rooker is scheduled for release on August 1st, 2014! And we’re very excited to see him join the cast!
